Stainless Steel Regulators
Durable Stainless Regulation for the Toughest Environments
Bellofram Precision Controls' stainless steel pressure regulators are engineered to deliver stable, accurate pressure control in the most demanding environments. Constructed from 316 stainless steel, these regulators offer superior corrosion resistance, making them ideal for aggressive gases, clean steam, washdown systems, and hygienic process lines.
With decades of proven performance in food & beverage, chemical processing, and pharmaceutical industries, Bellofram is the trusted source for pressure control where contamination, corrosion, and compliance matter most.
What’s the Difference Between 316 and 316L Stainless Steel?
Why does Bellofram Precision Controls use 316L stainless steel?
316L stainless steel contains less carbon than standard 316, which improves corrosion resistance—especially after welding or in high-moisture, chemical, or clean-steam environments. This makes it ideal for regulators used in food, beverage, and medical applications where cleanliness and long-term reliability are critical.
Does 316L perform differently than 316?
Both grades offer excellent strength and resistance to aggressive media, but 316L provides added protection against weld decay and pitting, making it better suited for sanitary or continuously washed systems.
Are all Bellofram stainless steel regulators made from 316L?
Not all models. Bellofram’s Type 62SS, 64SS, 66SS, 68SS, and 72SS regulators are constructed entirely from 316L stainless steel bar stock for maximum corrosion resistance and hygienic performance.
However, the Type 52 stainless steel series (T52 SSAR, T52 SSFR, T52 SSR) is made from 316 stainless steel, offering excellent durability and corrosion protection for general industrial environments where low-carbon 316L isn’t required.
When should I choose 316L over 316?
Choose 316L for any system that involves welding, sterilization, or exposure to corrosive cleaning agents—it maintains surface integrity and extends regulator service life.
